hello all,

Tomorrow i am going to start putting my 'brackish red clawed crab' tank together. its 10g but im having lower water levels to create a basking area so i suppose itll be around 7g once ive taken the water down for this. anyway my qeustion is, as my tank is going to be brackish im adding the correct saltwater aqaurium salt, but how much ?people have said that red claw crabs only need a teaspoon but i wasnt sure so i thought i ask you guys... the crabs im purchasing are being kept in complete freshwater i think so they will need acclimatising.. whats the best way to do this ??

i will need advise ASAP so please get back to me :)

I read that you can use about 2 tablespoons of salt per gallon or a specific gravity of 1.005. I don't know if it was us gallons or uk gallons, so I would just go with a specific gravity of 1.005.

For acclimating, It said to add enough salt each week to go up in specific gravity about 0.001 or 0.002 until you reach your desired 1.005. I think your going to have to get a salinity meter to keep the red clawed crabs healthy.

For the food, I couldn't find anything, so I'd say just feed shrimp and other common seafood
