This is the 3rd dwarf gourami I have had pass away from dropsy. It's saddening, because no matter how I try they don't live once their tummy starts to grow.

Sorry I couldn't do anything for you, little girly.

That sucks, Brinny.
I'm assuming he was in your 10 gallon tank, right? How are your water parameters? Dropsy, while seemingly random, can often be attributed to water quality issues.

It looks as though maybe you've pushed the stocking limit a little too far, based on what's listed in your sig. Might be time to do a more frequent water-changing schedule.

Or maybe your tank is perfect and it was just crappy luck. :(

I'm sorry to hear that, Brinny. :( I have heard that Bettas/Gouramis are prone to dropsy. I have lost a lot of bettas that way... I have no idea what went wrong because the water was fine and they would keep eating, then BOOM! ...It's too late, and they look like pinecones. It seems like a fishworld "cancer" since there are no known treatments for it..
