HELP!! i recently bought a pure flo float valve without the shut off valve. clearly the ideal way to install this would be to drill the glass then connect the 1/4 pipe. i never drilled glass before and would rather not wreck my 250g tank. does any one know another way to mount the float or maybe have had the same problem and can give me some insight on how to drill it

Welcome to the site :)

Is this for a top off system? If so, I would highly recommend that you don't set up an RO unit to run directly into the tank. If something fails, you'll end up with dead fish and a big flood.

It's much safer to set up a top off that goes from a storage container in your stand that you fill once or twice a week.

It's generally considered a lot safer to run an auto topoff that's not connected to the RO. Should the float switch fail, it will be a disaster.

This is the system I bought: JBJ A.T.O. - Automatic Top Off System Water Level Controller

All you need to add is a pump and a container. I have mine top off into my sump, but you could top off into the display if you don't have a sump.
