Rams?

Are are any special needs for Rams? Also do Rams have to eat cichlid type food?

rams eat flake, bloodworms, brine shrimp, and algae wafers IME.

special needs... they neeed good clean water. extremely sensitive to ammonia spikes.

looking over your sig, I'm hoping you got a good 90 gallon tank or so, or you might lose your new rams =(

So about how big do rams get? cause i know they are very good looking fish.

The should get 8 cms (3 inches approx), but you don't se many that size because they're so inbred. My advice with rams is look for good ones, that look big, no bent fins, amazing colour as there is a ton of inbred rubbish swimming around that has dull colours, is small, and dies a lot. If you see some apistos or something you like , get them instead, as you're going to have to look hard for good rams.

yeah I got my ram direct from a breeder, I'd say she's definitely full grown, but not 3", more like 2"ish. Her colors are great though, well worth the search.

i must agree with wayne wholehearedly.that's all i ever see is crappy inbread rams.is amazing i even have one as large and beautiful as it is.if you can find good stock get som if not just keep on walking.
