Ok, so in my 10g community tank I had 1 female betta, 4 juvenile zebra danios and 1 bristle nose catfish. Everything was fine, the tank was cycled (I had to move out 3 other female bettas because of fin nipping, the girl I left in was the peaceful one), I left for 2 days (lights off) and when I came back my female betta in the 10g was dead. All of the others seem to be fine. The corpse didn't look bloated or infected or anything. She was only about a year old too. She seemed to be a bit sluggish lately, but I thought that was just in comparison to the danios who were constantly zipping around the tank. Bettas are kinda lazy fish. Whe fish who died was a celophane betta so I can't say if her colors faded, but she did have a bit of red near her tail fin that wasn't there before. I thought it was just color she decided to show me for getting those other bossy bettas out of the tank she was in. She had no fin dammage like the others had from fighting.

I don't know what happened. Do you think the active danios stressed her out too much? I sort of figured that If I was going to lose a fish it was going to be either the danios, because the temps are too high for them or the more delicate catfish because of water conditions.

I'm working on 50% water changes right now for everyone. The fresh water is adjusting to room temp.

Does anyone have s clue as to what happened to my poor betta, Angel?
