Has anyone added pieces of cuttle bone to their tank for their snail?

Just looking for suggestions on best way to do this....ie how big of a piece to put in and how long to leave it in, etc.

Or is it easier or better to just place pieces of spinach or kale in for their calcium supplement?

Thanks!

There's a lot of discussion about cuttlebone. I used to put a 1/2" piece in the tank for shrimp/snails. Some argue that the snails need to get the calcium through their diet (not from the water).

I don't see a problem in doing both, if you want to. Feeding high-calcium food is a good idea.
