they are really cool, I have one in my 10g planted. The nearest lfs sells them for really cheap, like 3 or 4 dollars. I don't know why but because they're so cheap they get snatched up almost as soon as they come in; thus, I have just one. I'd buy some if I had the extra cash right now, providing shipping was reasonable.
Is that an actual pic you took of your moss balls?

Nope... cladophora aegagropila (sp) , a type of algae... no true mosses in my moss ball :)
