Really strange creature/ID please.

Not to long ago i saw what looked like a nudibranch in my tank, and paid no attention to it because it seemed harmless (bad basis of security i know). Since then i've found it again, and it seems to have molded to the rock...like it's more a fan worm encrusting growth. It's "spindly" and curves it's way into a full circle, but at the top of the spindle is what looks like a large ships smoke stack. A big hole that indicates the spindle is hollow, and there's something living in it. I have no idea what it looks like, not like a shrimp or a nudi. It does have small feelers that come out, and after a while they turn into something similar to a spiderweb...with less structure.

I'll post a picture soon, but does anyone know what this might be just by description?

from your description, it sounds like a limpet

I have no idea what that is, i'll look around on the internet...should i be worried?

nothing at all to be worried about--they eat algae (including corallines) and are impossible to remove from your rock once attached

Still sounds like a limpet. They are buggers to remove unless your quicker than they are.

How big? Maybe a spirulid worm, also totally harmless

Definately not a limpet, from the pictures i've seen a limpet looks like a mussel or clam. This looks more like a hardened worm. I'm looking into the spirulid worm now.

now that i read your description over again it is probably NOT a limpet--so nevermind

It definately looks more like kahluazz's picture, although as different coloration and what not. But i'm sure that just a species difference, I think spirulid worm is the winnder here.
