Red bubble algae

my LFS sells these plants called red bubble algae. i know green bubble algae is bad but this things look like sea weed with red bubbles. really cool.

he wouldnt tell me the exact price (manager wasnt there) but he said there really expensive...

are they good for a sump/refuge? cuz if they are i'll just get a little bit and start growing them.

I could have sold you some of my red bubble algae, but I don't see why it would be expensive. I would be concerned with this LFS store. Any algae that grows in the fuge will help deplete the nutrients in the main tank making it less likely for nusiance algae to grow in the display.

sounds like red grape caulerpa. Just like green there are some dangers of it going sexual if not kept on a 24hour light cycle. What happens is it releases spores and can cloud up your tank and add to the oxygen demand load
