Red coloring in tank...

I have like a red algie like growing in my tank does anybody know if it is harmful? or could it be the coloring from the food im feeding the fish? or something rusting in the tank (which i dont think it is theres no metal in there)? thanx if ya can help...

Then again are you overfeeding? I've seen tanks that are "red" from excess food. Do you have any driftwood in there. Sometimes they will leach tannins that color the water. How big is the tank. Water parameters OK?

I'm getting a bright red streak along the grain of my Mopani wood - is this related ?

it seems to be the strongest next to the filter flow - rather pretty really - but where does it come form ?

Mine is on the main back wall where the filter is too.. and on the orniment... It could possibly be from over feeding past week while i was gone... and its a 40 gal.
