Red Gills and Mouth

Two of my cories are pretty bad. I was gone for four days and when I came back, one of my cories had a red mouth and red gills, another so far "only" has a red mouth.

I have melafix and various treatments, question is which treatment do I use?

Does the redness look swollen in any way? Are there any white patches on the mouth or gills (white parts on top of the red parts)?

If not, I'd assume the water quality went down while you were away. A good water change and a little Melafix should fix them up.

I don't see any white anywhere. I cannot understand, I've never had this problem with my cories before. I vacum the gravel and do a water change once every 7-8 days. Anyhow, I did a water change even before I wrote this post, but I'll add some Melafix and hope that everyone feels better soon.
