I've noticed no one ever mentions Red Minor Tetras. Even in a poll on another forum they aren't mentioned. AgAdvisor doesn't list them either, but they are certainly pretty little fish. The long finned ones are pretty too. Petsmart had them for $1 and I wish I had bought more. They are very active and compliment the black skirt tetras also.:)

Yeah, over here they're almost always called serpae tetras. I've heard them called red minors on here a few times but that was the first time I'd ever heard them called as such.

Honestly, they're not my favourite. I think they're pretty, and this lulled me to buy them quite early on, but in turn this taught me how horrible these fish are for a peaceful community tank. No fins were safe, long or short!

I guess I will just have to watch them and not get anymore. I've had these two for a month without any problem - they chase each other but ignore the platys, mollies, and neons. So far the most aggressive fish I have had are the mollies and its hard to tell whether they are mating, playing or being aggressive, but there has been no damage done.
