red stuff growing on rock?

one of the hatian rocks i got a few months ago had some red stuff growing on when i bought it and now it has spread to almost all of the rocks in my 55 gallon.. is it algea?? it doesnt look bad and i dont mind it (i actually like it) but i just wanna know what it is...i got pics i you need

could be cyanobacteria (probably not because you like it) or it could be coralline algae, just to name a few

is it hard? if it is hard it is some form of calcerous coraline algae

the right side of your pic looks a bit like some coralline....but the left bottom seems to be cyano. The true red color and texture is kinda looking exactly with the cyano i had. Use a toothbrush to see if it comes out

yeah in both pics you can see some bubbles on the red stuff which leads me to believe that you are dealing with CB--try increasing flow on the rocks affected, scrub it off, and raise alk

ok if you do scrub it off..be sure to trap it somehow. I use fishnets installed over my 2 most powerfull powerheads while scrubbing/spraying water with a baster. Better to this before a water change...i noticed cyano patches can float on the top of the tank. Syphon it out when you do your change. Don't scrub and let it fly everywhere, it's like seeding cyano and creating a bigger outbreak.

if you decide it is cyano, and its possible, i would pull the rock out of the tank and scrub it in a seperate container
