Howdy folks,
Well the uni exams are over so ill probabaly be spending a lot of time on here or a lot of time being drunk..actually i mite combine the 2 and spend a lot of time on here drunk ;D ;D *thumbsupsmiley*
Anyway is there are long term solution to make your water less basic(more acidic)? My is sitting at about a pH of 7.5 and i was thinking id prefer this to be around the 6.5-7 range.  I cant be bothered slowly adding base until i reached my desired level and then having to keep checks on this.  So is there something I can do to lower my pH and have it stay at that ph?

Cheers,
Fishobob

Howdy... hope your not too tipsy when your feeding your fish!   *laughingcryingsmiley*

Anyhow, here's my 2 cents:  I think the ph of your tank depends on what is in it.  Different fish require different ph ranges.  I have found mine to stay at 7.5-7.6 = very consistently.  I believe you want consistency.  Know your fish and you'll know your ph range needs.

Hope this helps. *twirlysmiley*

Agreed on both counts.  Being intoxicated when feeding fish can cause little scaly balloons to take the place of your fish.  As far as the pH, as long as the fish don't seem to be stressed out, everything should be OK.  The fish will let you know when there is a problem.
