I recently got a new marineland canister filter for my 55 cichlid tank and sold my old aqua-tech 30-60 filter. After a while my fish were having trouble breathing and I found out it was because my new filter output is fully submerged and not releasing oxygen into the water like my old filter did with the waterfall. I bought a 30-60 whisper pump today and 2 air stones and placed them in my tank and they are working but it just looks very rough to me and I was wondering if this is ok for my cichlids?

In what way do you mean "rough"? So long as the surface tension is breaking there is gas exchange. If you have fairly normal stocking levels, having saturation shouldn't be too hard.

Is is possible to raise the outlet on the new C series?

No theres no way of lifting it up and I could drop the water level but then the heater would be out. I just thought it looked turbulent but it creates the same surface breaking that I want, and my fish don't seem to be bothered. I guess I'm just not used to it lol.
