Removing top Frame

Well the to of my frame brace is cracked so I want o replace it, but I have no idea how to get the entire black (top) frame off. Does anyone know how to do this. I tired a screw driver but made a horri noise so I stopped so I didnt crack the tank. Has anyone ever removied it and if so how, ANY ideas are needed

I think it is filled with silicon then placed on the top of the tank. It will be a pain to remove it. If it is cracked already, I would take it off by pieced. Cut it in 3 or 4 pieces, depending on the size of the tank, and mabye try to insert a razor blade between the plastic and the glass.

I think that Simons's idea is your best bet. Once you get it off what are you going to replace it with?

i found a seem and i found a way to get it off, but I was in shorts and bare foot, s i decided not to try it incase it cracks and huge glass peices drop on my foot, so im gonna wait till tommorow so i can throw on a pair of jeans jacket and face seild from my grinder, it hopefully wont break, thanks for the help man (baotchi)

well after 2 hours, 3 razor blades, a screw driver, pair of strong scissors, messing up my finger tips horrible, and hurting my back i finally got the entire frame off, and most of the silicone. So now I gotta find a place online wheir I can get the replacmen frame, or order one from m LFS. Ill keep you guys updated on my search for the new top frame

the tanks a 90 gallon, dimensions are 48 x 18 x 24, im gonna check out the link you just typed in

that link looks like it has what I need, but I am not sure because I cant see a picture of anyone of them, and some have center brace and some dont, I think I need a center brace, thanks for the link eco, now I gotta figure out which one to use lol

Give them a call. They should be able to help. I called All-Glass before about the same thing, and while they didnt have what I needed, they were very nice and helpfull.

Btw, in case you were no sure about it yet, i would definately get a frame with a center brace.

After looking through the options on that link from Eco, I was thinking that that the one to use would be the All Glass Brand FRAME with BRACE 48" OAK (add $5 special packing), do you guys think thats the right choice? Ill give my LFS a call, and try these guys too, but I trust you guys alot so I thoughtd i ask here too
