Rena FilStar XP1 for a 40 gallon?

Will a Rena FilStar XP1 be enough filter for a 40 gallon breeder tank?

The XP1 is 250 gph, for tanks up to 45 gallons and comes two filtration compartments.

Having xp's myself, I would recommend going with the xp2. The xp1 has only one basket. I think there was a mistake.

oh so you can only have 1 type of filter in it at a time?
Also, do the Rena's come with the tubing and parts?

The XP's have a divider that seperates each media compartment into two, a top one and bottom one. So with an XP1, you could have two types, an XP2 4, XP3 6.

I too would suggest the XP2 or the Ehiem.

I'm just worried if the xp-2 will fit in my stand. (EDIT:I found the canister dimensions: 9.25x9.25 should fit no problem)

It looks like the EHEIM filters would be a pain to service the way they have the material stacked in there.
