was doing a water change and cleaning on the filters, went to set the rena back up and as soon as i lower the lever to start the siphon, water pours out of the sides, and the 4 clamps fill loose, not resistance to them at all when i open or close them.

Water once poured out of mine when I put the top on, but its because I forgot to drain the water out. I talked to the people at Rena and they said to always empty the filter or water and use the gravity method to fill it back up. If the clamps don't feel tight that makes it sounds like you're missing a piece, like maybe the rubber seal? Did you check and make sure all your parts are in there?

EDIT:
I'm sorry, I misread what you said; you were doing the gravity siphon when it leaked. It still sounds like you're missing a seal part though.

yes that was it thanks, after scrambling around and watching youtube videos i found thier is a rubber gasket in between the motor and canister that had fallen off without me knowing it, i even went as far as buying a new set

then later on that day (haha)...

and it figures, i had spilled some flake food earlier, brought out the vacuum to sweep it up, when i rapped up the cord, guess what i found, the damn o-ring (which is black just like the cord) sitting on the floor right next to the cord, lol at least ill have spare parts when these parts do decide to go on me.

Yeah, spare parts is never a bad thing. :)
How much did a new one run you? I've been thinking about getting an extra just incase mine ever goes out or I lose it.
