Returning from sump

The company I'm thinking about buying my tank from says they can drill a hole for the return from the sump anywhere I want. Where is the best place to put something like this? I've read about ones that come back into the overflow but it seems having it go into the tank would be better because it would increase flow over the live rock. Any advice is appreciated, I just don't want to screw up my tank by putting the return in a bad place.

Remember That if you drill it in the bottom of the tank and have a short return pipe. If the power goes out and you arent there. There will be a lot of water on the floor. Not to mention Fish out of water.

Well I was thinking more like on the back side of the tank. On the opposite side that the overflow is on.

I say back side about 1 of 2 inches from the top. It would be best to have it on the opposite side from the Overflow you will get better flow in you tank. You can always add a spray bar or a jet extension to it.
