I've had my rio 1700 for about 2 months now, Completely submerged and it has been bullet proof, My lfs "big als" even sold me a 5 Year OTC warranty for it for 5 bucks, so that probably says they aren't to worried either. it's been great and it does actually put out the flow rates it says

POS!! They are junk in my opinion. I had two of them and they were both crap! They both got real loud after a month of use and would not restart all the time after they were shut down for cleaning. I really hate those pumps and I am NOW a firm beleiver that you get what you pay for. Funny thing is I went from a Rio 2100 which is 672gph to a Mag Drive 5 which is 500GPH and the mag pumps way more water and is bulletproof.

Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it.
