could anyone give me some advice on what ro unit i need.

my lfs has just gone bust and well i dont really want to have to drive 60 plus miles to the next one just for clean water,
so im thinking of purchasing a ro unit to make my own water, but the prob is on ebay there is 3,4,5,and 6 stage ro units and im not sure which one would suit me better..

i have a 100 gallon tank with a few soft corals, inverts and small collection of fish..

thanks in advance

they have some great 6 stage units that have dual outlets so you can have your r/o go to the fridge or to make clean ice cubes, drinking water ect. @ purewaterclubDOTcom i think i paid somewhere around $100 for mine

think ive found a good unit on ebay. its a 5 stage unit with a water tank as well so it could be plumbed to a tap for constant supply of drinking water.. even though from what i have read on drinking ro water you might want to think twice...

does anyone have any opinons on drinking ro water ??????

RO water is fine to drink. However, RO/DI water will taste bad. The units with a drinking water attachment bypass the DI system.

RO water is good for cooking, making tea/coffee, etc. If you're drinking a lot of it, it doesn't really have the "good" minerals that tapwater does.

Which reminds me that Aquafina (Pepsi) sells zillions of demineralized water, basically ro/di water for 1 buck min. per 330 ml. + They love it here because we don't pay for tap water. Boycott! A group called Corporate Accountability International has been pressuring bottled water sellers to curb what it calls misleading marketing practices. The group has criticized PepsiCo over its blue Aquafina label with a mountain logo as perpetuating the misconception that the water comes from spring sources.
Bottom line : Drink spring water :) !
