Rosy barbs with cichlids?

I got new fish today for the big tank and I don't want to risk the barbs nipping at them, so I figured they might be okay with the cichlids until I get a change to return them to the lfs. What do you think?

Well I moved them in there, hope they'll be okay. They seem to be fine, the cichlids ignore them unless they swim right in front of them. I added a little more decor for more hiding places. I'm hoping the barbs and the cichlids will be gone by the end of the week.

I dunno. I offered them $300 and said I was willing to bargain but the girl said her fiance was pretty firm on $600 and he would call if he decided to go down. So prolly not. I saw a brand new 120 gal. tank and stand and light at the lfs today for $650 so there is NO WAY I'd pay $600 for a used one!

The cichlid/barb tank has a convict, a cobalt, a blood parrot, and now the two barbs. They are doing great, I'm really suprised at how well the barbs and cichlids are getting along. They actually just ignore each other most of the time.

That is good that they are getting along. Ya No way if a new is $650 would I pay $600. It would be worth the $50 so you dont have to get trid of any fish that you dont want.
