running more than one tank on a filter

You are thinking of a central filteration system. Usually not done on a few tanks rather on many tanks. You can do it no problem. Just use tee connections on your plumbing along with ball valves to control flow and your set.

Im planning on running 6 tanks on one filter.

Just use a U type pipe and submerge the U under water and keeping the water inside and then turn it over so one end is sticking facing down. Than simply attach the filter to draw the water from one side and deposit it on the other. You might have to get a pump of some type to accomplish this but it can be done. Just make sure that the U doesn't get air in it or the suction from one tank to the other will stop working and you will end up with 2 tanks worth of water in one tank.(Or on the floor!!). Good luck.
