running more than one tank on a filter

Is this even possible, because i was thinking of having two ten gallon aquariums and running them on the same filter, can you do this? if so, what kind of filter do i need and cna you run more than two tnaks like maybe 2 tens gallons and one 20? Thanks

You'll need to drill the tanks, and treat it like a saltwater tank, with the sump underneither them all. It's not worth it for such small tanks.

you can but as said before its not worth it on such small tanks, id say not worth it till you get to 100+ gallon or many many many tanks

You are thinking of a central filteration system. Usually not done on a few tanks rather on many tanks. You can do it no problem. Just use tee connections on your plumbing along with ball valves to control flow and your set.

Im planning on running 6 tanks on one filter.

Just use a U type pipe and submerge the U under water and keeping the water inside and then turn it over so one end is sticking facing down. Than simply attach the filter to draw the water from one side and deposit it on the other. You might have to get a pump of some type to accomplish this but it can be done. Just make sure that the U doesn't get air in it or the suction from one tank to the other will stop working and you will end up with 2 tanks worth of water in one tank.(Or on the floor!!). Why be so difficult?

1 air pump, 2 sponge filters... problem solved, and cheaper than buying a standard HOB filter.
