SA Pike??

I have been seeing these in local Petsmarts, for 7 bucks, figured I would see if anyone here has any experience with them. I like them but I doubt I would actually buy one since it seems the requirements may be more than I can provide any time soon.

Pikes are very interesting fish. Very hardy and neat personality. The larger ones like that can be very aggro and hungry, haha.
Some species are really nice looking too...

Yea from what i could find they are very aggressive..I have another large tank in my garage that is I believe 100g (maybe 90 maybe 120 have to measure when I can get to it) but I already have a 90g that is going to house my Oscars and I am thinking of using th other tank for a native tank later this year. And not sure I want another large tank wth minimal inhabitants.

If you are really interested look into the Dwarf pikes, not $7 at Petsmart but still cool and smaller.

LOL...heck i was waiting for them to go down to $3..they went from 10 to 7..so i figured it was like walmart and continue to lower the price until they sell.

Well looks like my native wont end up happening due to restrictive laws here in Colorado so the pike thing may become a reality after all..i am not giving up on the native tank yet but I am making contingency plans

I think the ones that petsmart is selling are sveni and sp. bellycrawler, along with a few other random saxatilis group species, from what I've heard.
I haven't seen any at the stores I go to here in socal but they have the tags up. I've been waiting to see some pikes in there too!

I may go with the dwarf pikes if natives become an absolute NO GO, I havent researched them yet but plan to within a few months.
