No question, just a sad post.

Looks like I'm gonna lose my 'little girl'.
My female betta just isn't acting like her 'betta' self.*SICK*
It also appears that there is a white stringy thing coming out of her 'belly-button'.
I hate to see her go.
Sharing makes me feel a little better, thnx for the opportunity.
BTW, water params appear fine.

awwww, sorry to hear that GIS. I had a betta once that had a pink stringy ball of intestine looking thing hanging from him but it went away on it's own. Mebbe she'll get better :)

Hey, I read somewhere that if a female is full of eggs, and doesn't have a mate, she will either absorb them back into her body or let them go in the form of a "white stringy thing". I do not recall what type fish they were discussing, but I thought I might share...

Hmm.
Interesting thoughts.
Thnx for your sympathy.
I'll continue to watch her.

Side note:
I went to lfs this evening.
Saw a female betta there _covered_ w/ ich.
I mean, this was terrible ich.
I tend to hate that place all the time.
Don't even get me started on the occassional puppy they have.

Small update, 10-09-2006

She now seems to be hiding under plants, etc.
It's as if she wants to be in the dark and away from the other fish.
She is also mouth breathing, breathing heavier than usual.
I thought I caught her attempting to eat this morning.

The observation continues...

OK I dont know but i might be wrong but hiding under plants is not a good sign. As for mouth breathing and even heavier is definetly not a good sign but attempting to eat is a good sign. But 2 signs against 1 is not good. Keep us updated and how about some pics if possible.

Final Update: 10-10-06

She has finally passed.
This morning I found her stuck to the intake of my HOB.
At least she doesn't have to suffer any more.
I'm going to have to get another betta.
She was too cool not to have another one.

Sorry for the loss. Yeh atleast she doesn't have to suffer any more. Again sorry!
