safe sponges?

are any of these sponges safe to use as a sponge filter?
all from homedepot:
(cleaning sponges)
Spontex Extra Large Cellulose Sponge
Spontex Lg. High-Density Poly Sponge (Pkg Of 2)

they are under the "Towels & Sponges" categary.
i need answers asap

I use the sponges made for washing your car (look in the automotive section). You want an open pore sponge, otherwise, like me, you will have to poke holes in it all over. Make sure there are NO chemicals on the sponge, like soap. And use the yellow colored ones, the red makes your water pinkish.

what about the yellowish sponge that home depot has for wiping tiles?

I don't know, I don't have a Home Depo near me. Just look for any Chemical Free, open pore sponge.

those sponges are just sponges no wrapping no papers no nothing

i've decide to use sponge from petsmart/petco to be on the safe side.

most non aquarium sponges are cellulous sponges which are bad for aquariums. and lots of them have chemicals in them too keep bacteria from growing inside the sponge.
