I've seen black and sailfin mollies used to cycle saltwater tanks before. Can I add black mollies to my reef tank? My wife loves them, but I'm not sure how they'd work, or IF they'd work out in there. The salinity is at 29 (1.0215).

I know I'd have to slowly acclimate them to the salt, but has anyone heard of keeping livebearers in a truly saltwater tank?

Thanks

yes, you could add black mollies to a full strength saltwater tank. Adding them to a reef would be fine. They would actually help keep nuisance algae down. You need to drip acclimate them for a few hours before you can add them.
