Saltwater tank used for fresh?

Just curious if a tank previously used as saltwater would work for a FW tank ?
Found one for sale on craigslist and says its setup for sw with mag pumps and accessories. Not sure what mag pumps refers to but figured id ask on here. Thanks

In the past couple months, I acquired a used SW tank that had been set up for several years. It still had all of the beach sand in it and everything when I got it. Cleaning it up was a pain in the butt, but my FW fish have done just fine in there.

Thanks BV that does help, thought of one other question too. It is a drilled tank also, will this affect filtration in a FW tank ?

It sounds like it's set up with a sump. That will be fine for a non-planted tank, but could cause problems if you want to set up a CO2 system. If it is drilled, you can put end plugs on the drilled sections. If it has a built-in overflow, you're most likely stuck with a sump/wet & dry system.

Hmm ok, well i had considered a planted tank. Nothing to major seeing as i only have 1.8wpg. Guess i may just pass it up...really hard to for the price they want lol.
