Sand substrate

After I cure my live rock I want to add some sand. I'm thinking about adding one or two bags of fine fiji arga-alive. What is this in comparison to aragonite? Then I was just going to fill the rest with marine sand.

The Arag-alive isn't really alive at all--you're better off just adding dry sand.

If you read around youll see that everyone agrees that Arag-Alive is unessacary....just a thought that it might be good to do some thread digging before you post.

I added a bag of the arag-alive to both my tanks when setting them up. It may be an added expense as all it has "alive" in it is bacteria that will populate from the rock regardless. I did it as I liked the colour and added to the top of my other live sand.......each to their own. It is unnecessary but it looks nice

I really like the texture of the sand. I used just the regular dry sand and placed a layer of the arag alive on top of it. It is unnecessary if you go with the live rock.
