I know I already posted this in the gourami board, but I can't figure it out and i need some help.

I have a blue gourami. His eye is turning pink along the back and he has a couple brown patches. I don't know what it is so if anyone can help, you'd be my friend for life.

Also what should I do to treat him?

Well I don't see a second post in the Gourami board...so if you didn't do it already, don't bother :) Usually when people come to check the boards they don't go to a specific board...they go to the main messageboard page and hit the little link that says "view new posts" and it shows all of the threads that have new posts on them, no matter which board they are posted on...so there is no need to post in more than one place because most people will see it no matter where it is.

(just wanted to say that about the double post...but sorry I don't know...fish don't get pinkeye do they? :) Blotches on the skin could be almost anything...do you have a digital camera that you could post a picture to see if anyone recognizes the problem?)

i've had him for a year and a half. It only seems to affect my gouarmis (I had a female die from it not to long ago). My water is 80 degrees, 7.2 ph, no ammonia/nitrite.

Also I've gotten some new fish but that was after I noticed the symptoms.

Pinkeye lol

who knows. maybe he just injured his eye.

I have had a couple dwarf flames get it before. It looks like a large puffy pink sore beind their eye and at the base of their fins.

It looked like he might have been getting it too but i could be wrong

I have two dwarfs. one of them has lost his coloring (brownish patch) like he has a hat on. He is completely healthy otherwise. Sometimes it looks like the color is coming back, then it fades.. no idea what it is, but it doesn't worry me.

I have a three inch female blue gourami. She developed a red pimply spot/spelling on her lower fin. Then, one began to appear near her top fin. They almost seemed to "move" down her fin. They were reddish/brown -- but not brown. Definitely raised.

I was at a loss. Around the same time, my tank got ich. I treated with Rid-Ich and aqaurium salt. I am not sure if one or both of them helped, but the spot disappeared within a few days.

I'm not saying it is/was ich. All I know is what I'm reporting.

BTW, I do 20 percent water changes weekly, with about a 50 percent change every 5 or 6 weeks.

Hope this helps.
