I purchased a used 120 gallon aquarium. It has 2 circular holes on the bottom panel as well as a pump & filter system with all the plumbing & pipes necessary to connect everything.

However, I am not sure that the gasket seals used to hook up the plumbing to the 2 bottom holes will seal properly, and make it leak tight.

What is the best way to seal the plumbing to the bottom of a glass tank?

Thank you.

Does the tank already have bulkheads installed in the holes, or is the cut glass all that's there? And are you wanting to hook up the sump filtration system to the tank, or seal up the holes and use a different kind of filter?

From the way I read your post, you want to be sure that the plumbing in the holes is water tight so you can use the sump system. From the way I understand bulkheads to work, there should be a rubber gaskets on the inside, and outside of the glass. When the bulkhead pieces are tightened, the gaskets are supposed to create a water tight seal so that the water only goes though the bulkheads. I don't know of anything else that should be put on the gaskets, as any glue would make it very difficult to properly replace them if it ever came to that. If they look warn I would probably get new ones.

Here's a link to some bulkheads if you need new ones or parts:
