I've been looking for months and nobody is getting Cardinal Tetras around Orlando, FL. Mail order is just too pricey - not that desperate yet. Anyone seen Cardinal Tetras for sale in Central Florida?
Thanks

How many Cardinals do you want? I am looking for 5 to 10. I have 4 now (I bought 10 but 6 died the first week, the rest are fine for 4 to 5 weeks now...).

I'd also like to find some Amano shrimp. Fishy Business in Longwood has some in their planted display tank but won't sell them to me :(

Well, I found some, but they are in rough shape. I bought 10, lost 6 in less than one day. Took back and got the last six left. We'll see how they do. I had a similar problem with the last batch I bought. I only ended up with four of the 10 I bought.

For some reason, the local supplier around here rarely has them in good shape. I guess they are easily stressed (?). One lfs owner told me he only buys them when he sees them at the warehouse first and picks them himself. He says every time he gets them delivered, he ends up rejecting them.

Anyway, it's not the lfs fault where I bought them, it's their supplier. The shop is Pet Bazzar in Casselberry, but I don't think they have any more, since I bought the last ones they had. $1.99 each.

I did see some at Petland over at Waterford Lakes about two weeks ago, but they were $4.99 each !! More than twice what I've paid at two other shops.

Got up this morning and pulled out 5 more dead ones, and one missing (probably eaten by the snails, catfish, ghost shrimp)...

So this weekend I've brought 16 home and 12 died so far!!!

I also had a full grown male Pearl Gourami in there, and he was going after any Cardinals that stray from the school. I decided to pull him out put him in another tank due to the aggression.

I'm going to get my refund for the Cardinals and buy a group of Glo-lights.

Found a good stock of Cardinal Tetras

Found what looks to be a healthy stock of Cardinal Tetras today. They were at Pet Supermarket at the corner of SR 436 and Winter Park Blvd / Red Bug Lake Rd in Casselberry. They have at least two or three dozen more @ $1.29 each (cheap!)... They are in a tank marked "Neon Tetra" but the guy I spoke with knew they were cardinals.
