Does anyone know anything about this fish? I saw them at a LFS and i have never seen them b4. I have some questions about them such as how big do they get, what do they eat, and are they agressive towards any fish, and any other interesting facts about them?

theyre more commonly referred to as "botia rostrata" or the ladder loach. also referred to as the twin banded loach. they get around 2-3 inches long. theyre sensitive to medication and chemical treatments. better kept in groups of 5 or more. i only managed to find a few profiles and they all pretty much said the same thing, 2-3" long, sensitive to medication and chemicals, and best kept in groups of around 5 or more

heres a link to a profile: http://www.thatfishshop.com/findex/fish/botia_rostrata.htm

Good Catch fishdude07, I didn't find anything that connected botia rostrata to sergeant major loach, well until after you did.

They look very similar to the botia kubatai in their size and coloration, but the kobatai seem to have more circular paterns on them rather than stripes.

Cool looking loaches :)

my impression is that their care is very similar to the much-more-common yoyo loach! i believe they stay a little smaller than yoyos, but otherwise, i think they are a typical botia loach. eats snails, likes to have as many buddies as possible, swarms for food...a lot of fun! i saw some recently, and i had to resist! i already have too many loaches! or can you never have too many loaches?

(goes to look at his 55g that's 90% loaches...)
