Hello SW people! I don't do SW myself and rarely if ever venture into these murky depths of the forum...but I came across these links in another forum and felt that I should post them here. I don't want anyone getting hurt out there!

Please take the time to check out these links. These toxins can be lethal and its good to know about them or at least be reminded that we need to be careful and understand the potential danger that accompanies the SW hobby - and even in FW to some extent. I mean, the guy lost his DOG!:(

this is something often told to divers, but not often told at your lfs, especialy considering the lack of knowledge on the subject.many corals are dangerous, thats why you should never touch them diving or even in your tank.

Let's not forget there are certain aquatic plants that are not exactly pet-human friendly if injested...

Didn't know zoos were toxic though - good timing for a reminder there are some coming off a plane today for me :) I guess I'll be digging out the gloves...

Thanks for the heads up, Leopardess. I used to do the saltwater thing, and knew a couple of the critters I used to keep were dangerous, mainly a lionfish (Pterois volitans) that was a good foot long, and also a spotted moray eel. Okay, it was really my own stupidity that was the danger with the moray, but it stung like hell when it bit me (both times).

I never knew about the zoanthids, however.
