Sesarma Bidens (aka Red Claw Crab, Red Clawed Crab)

Not sure that crabs should go here, but they are bottom feeders so I figured I would start here.


I have done some research on the Sesarma Bidens (aka Red Claw Crab, Red Clawed Crab) and I would just like to know what people who have them think.

Any information will help!!

well no one posted, but I didn't want to leave this open.

I bought a crab and he only made it about 15 days. He refused to come out of the hole in the drift wood to eat and that is where he died.

I don't know if it was water levels that killed him or starvation.

Jadenblack,I really do'nt think there worth the hasel (spl?) I bought one for one of my tank's about a month ago. It killed one of the neon's,and ended up in the filter twice!!!! I've not seen it now in about 2 week's and its not in the filter. I do'nt konw if it got out or died.

red claw crab

i bought a red claw crab a week ago and it gets on really well with my small mollies and guppys but when he comes out from under his hiding place the bigger (3 inch shubenken and black moor) fish dont attack him but are curious ,and the crab thrusts his claws towads them and then skuttles away. will they get used to each other or should i move them.

I wouldn't say to move him. I don't think he will be fast enough to catch them now your other bottom fish I am not to sure of.
