Are you positive on the sexes?
Males have lots of lines/striations on the face.

Sometimes they just need a chance to settle in and same sex or opposite sex conspecifics will play nice. Sevs are known for their pickiness in mates and aren't the easiest cichlid to get to spawn successfully. You can have a male and female together and never have any spawks between them. They're a species I think prefers to have a choice.
