Just wanted to double-check that I in fact have a true pair, and not 2 males or 2 females. The male's dorsal fin is longer, right? (like when you sex gouramies, right?)

What about the pink coloration on the stomach area---is it just females that have this, or males too? (at first just the one I thought was a female had it, but now the "male" seems to be showing this pinkish/reddish patch too)

Here they are:

I think this is a female.

Here you can see (sort of...sorry...it's dark) her dorsal fin is fairly short with relation to the tail fin.

I think this is a male.

Here you can see his dorsal fin is longer with relation to the tail fin (i.e. than in the "female's" pics, shown above).

Please give me your thoughts.

Thanks,

Thanks Helena.

I'm assuming that you sex them according to the dorsal finnage then (since both of them seem to be showing the pink/red on the belly)?

Sexing on the shape of the tail is far easier

Exactly. Males will have a more dimond shape tail that will come to a blunt point at the end while females have a rounded tail with no point. Most males will also have some color spots present in the tail, and at the back of the dorsal fin while females do not.

Even at a small size Kribs are relatively easy to sex, as well as the above fin shapes, females are generally more intense in colouring and males have longer slimmer bodies compared to the rounder body of the female.
