the question is.
is it ok to move the fish out in to  another tank for a few minits  (say 1h) why i move the tank around and give it a good clean..
for 3 reasons

1. my filter is getting all gogged up and not filtering as fast any more?
2.tanks needs a clean
3. relandscape? and left for longer? (got any good ideas)

so yes or no *thumbsup2* *thumbsdown2*

i would only move my rambows and ghost cats out of the tank?

Re: Shold i or should i not u have 3hrs to have yo

This advice is probably best left to the experts....but there are several other questions about your situation. You stated that your tank needed a good cleaning. How long since your last water change? How long has the tank been up and running? Have you cleaned the tank before? How many fish are in it and what size is the tank? Moving the fish to another tank probably won't hurt them but will definitely stress them and increase the chances that they may become ill or die, especially if you're doing a complete tank redecorate and cleaning. You may lose your beneficial bacteria with a complete tank clean. Why not disconnect the filter unit and give it a good cleaning and inspection. Do a gravel clean/siphon and do a 50% water change while leaving the fish in the tank? Take out your decorations that need cleaning and rinse them well. Place those back in the tank that you want and leave the others out. Put in any new etc. Reassemble your filter unit with a new cartridge (or whatever it takes) and get it back up and running again. Replace the water with new and treat it if necessary. I think this would stress the fish less. If you have to move the tank, then I would think it would be OK to move the fish but try to make sure the water temp is very close to the old tank and limit their time in the temp tank to as little as possible. Does this help?

Re: Shold i or should i not u have 3hrs to have yo

thanks a 20 gallon i think maybe a bit bigger has about 16 fish and a cuple babies.. plants and drift wood.. i would not be replacing the stuff just moving it around? the tanks been set up for about 1 year no maybe 1 and 1/2 not sure but a long time?
i think i take it all out with the fish in and try a full clean with them in the tank! (i would not be changing the walter at most 10%)

i had a bad experiance with this last time (what i first got th tank) and almost squished a fish when moving a rock or 2.

but i try and let you know how i got on.
