I think my angel fish have fin rot. Their "feelers" at the bottom look like they've been chewed on. They're whitish. Am I right to think it's fin rot? Any advice/help??

Fairly straightforward if it is fin-rot .......you'll need a fin-rot med (anti-fungal)

Just in case it isn't - put this link in your favourites bar - http://www.myfishtank.net/diseasedatabase.php

More to the point is what caused it - usualy water quality - uneaten food - dirty tank - water parameters etc.......or combat damage. Treatment is easy - but you don't want to keep going through this.

Melafix sucks - more a tonic than a cure - keep up the anti-bac meds as well

(and never confuse a high post count with experience or knowledge - there are exceptions to any rule - just trust what sounds right)

There are a couple of things I have used sucessfully on fin rot. One is AP Anti-Fungus, which works pretty well. Another are the Jungle Fungus Clear tablets, which have worked very well, although they will sometimes stain your gravel or decorations a little.

You should make sure your water is very clean, as this can lead to fin rot. Regular water changes are a must. Angels are pretty suceptible to fin rot. The other thing to make sure is that the tank is at the right temperature, cold water can lead to fin rot, too.

Hope this helps :)

i'd go with purple. Any anti-fungal med would do good. But never OVERDOSE and REMOVE FECES before use. Coz most of the meds have a very bad reputation of reacting with feces. And i'll also suggest u to take ur temp a little hi of around 30C during treatment time.
