sick corrie

I have 3 corries in my tank. One of them is acting weirdly. He's behaving as if he's drunk. He lies on his back and goes vertical and upside down but apart from that he's looking fine. All the rest of my fish are fine and doiung what normal fish do. Anybody any ideas what's wrong with him? The other two are behaving normally. *twirlysmi

It sounds like it might be swim bladder disaease or an intestinal blockage. Try not feeding for a few days. If that doesn't work, put him in a hospital tank and treat with antibiotics for swim bladder disease.

I agree with lotus, it seems he has lost some of his swimming control.

Thanks for the info, I'll try that one. Do you reckon it'll affect my other fish? They're all fine at the moment. I have 2 Blue Dwarf Gouramis, 3 Neon Tetras, 3 Zebra Danios, 3 Guppies, 1 Pleco, 3 Ottos, 2 more Corries and 3 Golden Barbs.

SBD is not contagious.

it usually means they're a 'little blocked up'.

suspend feeding for a few days... try to feed him a cooked shelled pea....that'll help clear out his intestines if he's constipated/stopped up.
