I have had a platy for almost a year. I had a pair but the male died about 4 months ago. She looked like a normal platy, straight spine, pretty healthy, no problems at all in the past. Well, I did notice that it looked like her mouth was busted, she had some red on her lips and I figured she got stuck or whalloped by one of the other fish and did not worry. She was eating good and swimming fine (this was over a month ago). Well now she has a hunch back and is swimming crooked. Her back fin is a little frayed, but I figured some of the other fish nibbled on her because she is vulnerable. She is very thin and well, have you seen the ballon mollies? She looks like she is trying to imitate one of those. The pH is 7.2, 0 ammonia, 0 Nitrates. I have photos to maybe help with the diagnosis.
Tank:
pH = 7.0
Ammonia = 0
Nitrate = 0
Size = 29
mates:
1 female betta
5 red-eye tetra
1 white cloud
1 pleco
1 hill loach
