mmm, get him into an isolation tank, put in 1/8 cup of rock salt if the tanks a 20 gallon. Put in some Methylene Green/Blue(multi-sure products), Make sure his water is perfect, no ammonia, good aeration, heat, lighting, filtration, give him some cover, like a ceramic pot plant or a coffee mug to hide in, first hit him with a nomal to high dose of methlyene green/blue for the first 24 hours, then on time, change 50% of the water with normal treated tap water, and let him sit in the tank for the next 24 hours and monitor him every 2-3 hours. dont feed him till after the 48 hour treatment.

thank you. I have him isolated. Cold water because he is a goldfish. Think i should add some heat?
i dont know what methlyene green/blue is. I put in an antibiotic.
i checked on him this AM and seen a little white worm on the glass inside the tank. looked him over with a mag glas and didnt see any hook worms or worms on him. should i get some type of fish wormer too?

I dont think adding heat would be a good thing. Ive heard goldfishes are more likely to get disease when theyre in colder water so I dont thik it would help its chances of getting rid of what it has if it were in warmer water.

I can't really help you out other than to say that RobMiller's idea is what I would go with. Just wanted to say that goldfish are coldwater fish and should not be kept at tropical temperatures. I would leave it cold. Sorry to hear about your fish and I hope he gets better.

sick goldfish update please read help needed

ok i added the following:
parasite clear by jungle
trisulate.

He gets a burst of energy or hunger and swims around the tank for a while then slowly sinks to the bottom and lays there.
He ate 3 peas with epsom salt in them today and still no poop.
His gills are a little red and rapid breathing. I just noticed some of his scales are starting to protrude.
Pease advise.
could he have eaten gravel? We call him HOOVER because he sucks everything up off the bottom.
