Sick fish

My Otto has cotton wool like fungus on his head which has just apeared today. I am going to move him to a smaller tank to treat him but I am unable to as I am out of the stuff i use to treat tap water with and there is not enough water in the smaller tank. I am going to go and get some tomorrow but do you think it will be alright to keep him in the tank he is in now or will it spread and infect my other fish? also how hard is it to treat?

I think that most funguses like u described can be contagious, but if u don't have water for ur hospital tank, then all u can do is keep ur otto in his tank till u get water for the q-tank. I don't know how hard it is it treat. Hope ur otto gets well soon.

Thanks skatoholic i left him in there last nite but ufortunataly he died before i could treat him. i found him this afternoon, but the good news is all my other fish seem to be doing fine so i hope they stay that way
