Just need your confirmation on what you think it could be please.

Apart from a big algae outbreak and PO4 off the scale all specs are fine.

This fish has had a bit of a lump for ages but it has gotten slowly worse over the last couple of weeks. The fish behaves as normal, eats well and generally enjoys life like nothing is wrong.I noticed a little flicking and rubbing today but it's not constant.

Do you think it's an ulcer or fish TB or something else?

ps.My Keyhole Cichlid has dropsy and a slightly red anus if that helps diagnose the former. It seems to act as normal too though. If I can get a pic I'll edit it in.

I started treating with Myxazin a day before I posted this.I was thinking it was an ulcer before until it got like this,or maybe a cancer. The wounds sort of puff out a little, prominent from the body.

If a 5 day course of the Myxazin doesn't do any good I'll take the photo's to the vet I think, unless I can get a broad-spectrum antibiotic from somewhere else?

It's gotten worse over the last day and a half. Its stomach has dramatically swollen and extended out in an odd way.I'll see if I can get another pic or two tonight but I feel it would be kinder to put it to sleep now.It still moves ok and acts normal but didn't eat much the last time I fed them.If this is something that could burst and possibly affect the rest of the fish with spores I don't want that happening.Out with the Clove Oil I think.:(

If it has gotten significantly worse than in the photo, it sounds like he won't make it. :( Really sorry to hear he's doing so poorly.

I had a loach that came in with some kind of parasite in his flesh. The worm thing burst out, and the loach died soon after. I don't know if it's the same thing, but it's always a risk with wild-caught fish that they bring something with them.

Keep a close eye on his tankmates for any signs of anything unusual.

Well he's still alive. The lump seemed to shrink some with the Myxazin treatment. The tank will be getting another go with that shortly.

He still swims about normally and is eating although the two Yoyos I have are bossing him about a bit. They seem to be growing at a fast pace and getting bigger by the day whereas the golden fella hasn't really gotten much bigger since day one.

The Myxazin hasn't done a thing for the Keyhole though so I still may end up putting him down.If he starts having difficulty getting around or rests on the gravel for long periods I think I'll have to get the clove oil out for him.

My loach finally bought the farm the other day. I guess I always expected it but apart from the lumpy thing it seemed fine till the end. It was a little shy of the other fish but ate well and swam ok too.

R.I.P Mr.Loachy.:(
