Gday Folks,
Well over the past few days i have noticed my dwarf neon gourami's are sick :'( One has a reddish/pinkish tuft just below his mouth and another one looks like he has the beginning of the same reddish/pinkish tuft or growth on his stomach. At first I thought the mouth one might have been bitten by 1 of my sharks or plecos but now I am thinking that it is a parasite or bacterial disease.  It doesnt seem to be on any of my other fish, just the gourami's.  I have just given my tank a major clean hoping this will help.  Does anyone know what affecting my gourami's?  If u do I would gladly appreciate ur opinions on hte subject.  Ill go to my lfs and ask about it and get some medication for them hopefully.

Cheers,
Fishobob

What does the growth look like exactly? Does it have a shape?

It isn't too uncommon to have fish get tumors from conditions in the water, and the tumors can go away when the condition is corrected.

Your tank has two fish affected, which seams to me like it could be something else.

There are some things it could be that are a major concern, but I would see if your cleanning of the tank has any effect, or if it gets any worse, describe the fish's behavior, and anything else that could point us to a solution.
