my molly has been acting kinda odd lately

swimming at the top constantly.

Gills are moving rapidly and there white.

looks allmost like the fish has sort of a white not a fuzz but sumthin along those lines around it.

eyes look kinda enlarged or pushed out.

can anyone offer any insight on what it could be...

i removed it from the 29 and dropped it in the 5 gallon raised the salt level in the tank i'm hopeing this will do some good for it but any help would be appreciated

The eyes bulging out is popeye and can be indicative of poor water conditions. What are your water parameters? Is the tank well oxygenated? Fish near the surface, moving gills rapidly, can be an indication of low oxygen levels in the tank, or compromised gill function due to ammonia/nitrites (though, the gills would usually be red in this case).

"looks allmost like the fish has sort of a white not a fuzz but sumthin along those lines around it."

Do you mean this is around the gills? I would add something like Maracyn Plus (a broad spectrum antibiotic).

poor thing died a day or two ago i took 2 cups of water to my lfs and they tested it for me and told me water looked great i change the water regularly bout every 7 or so days i change atleast 25%, i change 50% every two months and 85%+ every 4 or 5 months i also vacume my gravel with the vacume i bought to go with my magnum 220 can. filter, i also have a filter on the back of the tank that i havent changed the filter in, in a while i figured all thats for is the biological filtering. i also scrub the sides of the tank down with my alge brush the usual stuff. This is my usual mantience on the tank if i'm doin sumthin wrong or if anyone knows sumthin that i should be doing or sumthin that i'm doin wrong now let me know.

as for the white fuzz it looked like the gel coat was hazy she was on the surface of the water breathing rapidly... as for oxygenation the most i've got is whats coming off of the back filter i need an air pump but i can't find one i like.. so there prolly not getting what the need i guess thats the next thing i need to get for my tank But i've never had problems with this before and it was just the one fish i would think if the oxygen were low in the tank all the fish would be hovering at the top breathing rapidly...

i dunno i'm really stumped on this one i dunno why she died i'm allmost tempted to take the tank down and scrub it clean just to that there isnt much of a chance for this kinda thing happening again
