Hi all, I recently purchased a 30 gallon tank mostly because some fish in my 10 gallon were too big/aggressive. One of these fish is the pictus catfish. I needed to cycle the 30 gallon and I realize that a pictus cat isn't the best for that but I had to get him out of the 10 gallon.

Anyways, when he was first put into the 30 gallon he was very lively constantly moving as he was when I first purchased him. After a day or two he started getting ich. For the past 3 days I have medicated the tank and the ich seems to have gotten a lot better.

While I was medicating him he was still moving around pretty quickly but now that the ich has gotten better he doesn't seem to be doing well. All day today he has been sitting in a small cave I made, and not moving around much at all. He's been moving a little bit- not breathing very heavily... but definitely not moving around as much as he was when I first purchased him.

What's going on with him? Is it just because of the cycle, the medication, or what? Any information would be great, he's an awesome fish and I'd hate to see him die.

Thanks,

Kevin.
