sick turquoise rainbow?

we brought home 5 turquoise rainbows from our lfs last night. they all seemed to be doing fine. today, when i came home from work, one of them appeared to have something on his nose that was bright yellow! he was listing a little bit and nipping at the other fish. i called the lfs and brought him in just before they closed. my water tested fine and they said he looked healthy. the yellow appeared to have cleared up for the most part. i brought him home and he does look a bit better. but, it was really prominent for a while.

anybody heard of this? they think it's just him showing his colors. what keeps me from buying that 100% is that he was listing and chasing the others around the tank.

He is just begining to show his colouration. When mature, turquoise rainbow males get a brilliant yellow blaze running from their nose up to the dorsal area. They show this colouration when breeding or displaying dominance.

it's been a few days. everything seems fine now. i noticed that you can see the bright yellow on only one fish and that it only appears when he's near the center of the tank. the light must be hitting him just right. perhaps he was listing from being tired and stressed? it was his first full day in the tank. dunno. but, at least he's doing fine now.
