Sickly betta

#1
My betta, Diego, has been through fin rot and swim bladder disease but I don't know if he's gotten over either! The fronmost part(not including his head) of his body looks bloated, he rests under the leaves of his fake plant or just at the bottom of his tank, he's started not to eat as much, and, along with his pectoral fins looking a bit tattered, I swear he's continued to "fall apart" even after his fin rot went away(or so I thought). He's in his tank alone and I'm not quite sure what to do for him. Any suggestions?

It may not be simply fin-rot or bloating from overeating. Those symptoms may also be from a disease called dropsy. I sure hope it is not dropsy, but a swelled stomac is one of the symptions along with listlessness and not eating.

It it is dropsy, that is a very serious internal organ-type failure disease which is hard to determine the cause and even harder to cure. Some people have had success treating with Kanacyn, but so far I have lost all my labyrith fish (bettas and gourami) that have gotten dropsy :(

Do a water change and try an anti-biotic like Kanacyn, (not just Melafix), and do a little research on the possibility of dropsy.

Hope Diego pulls through!

I started to treat him with Maracyn-Two today and he still eats some of his food. I've had a fish with dropsy before( emphasis on the "had"). He must've been worse than Diego is now but the bloated body has been with him since maybe December and he ate normally until now. The other fish lived for barely a week after getting dropsy. I guess it could just now be taking full effect.
