Who says tiger barbs are ferocious?! Okay, so mine are weird. lol You try growing up from 3/4" with a 4" opaline gourami telling you what to do! You'd be afraid of everything (including the cories!) too!

Well, I added three more tiger barbs last night that I got for free off Craigslist, in hopes that maybe they'd teach my barbs to grow a set. Yeah, good luck with that! My seven old tiger barbs are about 1.5" long now. The three new tiger barbs are closer to 2.5", with the biggest (a nice plump female) being closer to 3". I walked in a minute ago to make sure the new tigers weren't harassing my angel who is temporarily in the 29gal because of the issues with the 55gal (that I still haven't gotten around to fixing yet! Yet again...BAH!). What do I find? My stinkin' albino rainbow shark is chasing the new barbs all over the tank! There's no fin nipping or anything, he's just chasing them. BAH!

So, do I leave things as they are (minus the angel, of course, since he's a temporary resident), or do I rehome the albino rainbow shark? This isn't the first time I've caught the rainbow shark chasing the tiger barbs, I just thought he'd live the big newbies alone since they're just about the same size he is.

Normally yes. However, I have no spare tanks at the moment because of the emergency with the 55gal (came home last Thursday evening to the tank with only 6" of water in it...it was almost full when I left that morning). I had to move all my fish from the 55gal into other tanks, which meant the 10gal that was spare and the 18gal tall both got fish from the 55gal put into them because I had absolutely nowhere else to put them.

However, that is entirely beside the point. lol

Is this where I'm supposed to be picking on Paige for taking in more fish than she currently has capacity for? :D

I'd guess (GUESS) your shark is grumpy due to temporary overcrowding. The problems will probably disappear once you get your 55 back up and running. (GUESS)

Yes, we can rag on me now. :p

Actually the problems with the albino rainbow shark started BEFORE the 55gal had its epic fail. I noticed his aggression toward the tiger barbs at least a week before I had to move the angel into the 29gal (and the angel is the only fish from the 55gal that went into the 29gal...although now that I think of it, I could have put the oto from the 55gal in there as well lol). If it had started when the angel was moved into the 29gal, I would have put two and two together, so to speak. Also, the tigers are the only fish the albino rainbow shark bothers. He leaves Grover (the SA bumblebee cat) and the cories alone.
